Abstract

This research focuses on the design and manufacture of a PVT (Photovoltaic Thermal) dryer for terubuk (a type of plant) processing, integrated with IoT (Internet of Things) technology for real-time monitoring and control. The drying process is critical in maintaining the quality and shelf life of agricultural products, including terubuk, by reducing moisture content. Traditional drying methods are often inefficient and highly dependent on weather conditions. This study aims to develop an efficient, sustainable drying system utilizing renewable solar energy through a PVT dryer, which combines the generation of both electrical and thermal energy. Additionally, the IoT system will monitor and regulate the drying process, ensuring consistent temperature and humidity levels. The research includes the design, material selection, and the manufacturing process of the drying unit, followed by a prototype test. Results indicate that the integration of PVT and IoT in the drying system offers improved energy efficiency, faster drying time, and better control over the drying conditions. The proposed system shows great potential for optimizing agricultural processing while reducing energy costs.
